President's Message

Dear SCCF members and community friends,

Happy Lunar New Year! On behalf of the Sacramento Chinese Culture Foundation (SCCF) Board, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your unwavering support and active participation in making SCCF one of the most influential nonprofit Chinese community organizations in California. Together, we have achieved remarkable results in promoting peace, prosperity, cultural diversity, community harmony and health in our multi-cultural society at the local, regional and national levels. I also want to acknowledge and appreciate our strategic partners, such as California Northstate University College, River City Medical Group-Vivant Health, UC Davis, Sutter Health, Capitol Periodontal Group, APAPA, Reliance Group, SMUD, McWong International, California Association of Acupuncture, and Chinese American Medical Association of California for their generous and continuous contributions and collaborations.

On behalf of the SCCF board members and the Organizing Committee of the East-West Health Fair, I want to convey my heartfelt thanks to all the SCCF members, sponsors, institutions, organizations, vendors, clinicians, volunteers, community leaders, public officials, and community members for your enthusiastic support and involvement in making the 2023 California Capitol Region East & West Health Fair another historic community service event in SCCF history. The event, which was held on March 19th, 2023 at the new Event Center of California Northstate University (CNU), attracted over 80 local and regional health care organizations and vendors, and over 2000 community members. Health care providers and students offered free flu vaccines, diabetes screening, stroke education and screening, vision, hearing and dental screening. Clinical experts of East Medicine and West Medicine also provided free onsite medical services and consultations. The event was a great success and a testament to the power of collaboration and integration of different health care systems and cultures.

Our community has also witnessed the great success of SCCF in promoting Chinese Culture. SCCF has awarded over $20,000 annual scholarship to local schools and students for many years to support their effort in teaching and learning Chinese Culture. SCCF has also established its own orchestra in 2017 to rally community members to use their music talents to serve the community. The SCCF orchestra’s debut performance during the opening ceremony of the East & West Health Fair was phenomenal. They have also volunteered monthly in local senior centers and nursing homes to play the favorite music for the senior citizens. In addition, SCCF has provided a special platform for the talented community members and volunteers in the capital region to identify their talents, share their talents, promote their talents, strengthen their talents and use their talents to serve the community. We strongly believe that only when all community members are actively involved in the community services, the community will become our own community, and will thrive. SCCF is the official sponsor of the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award. It has created a movement to guide the youth in our community to take ownership and pride in serving the community.

As we look forward to 2024, SCCF is very confident to continue collaborating with all the local and regional community partners to lead the effort in promoting peace, prosperity, cultural diversity, community harmony and health in our multi-cultural society at the local, regional and national levels. We need your continued support and participation to build and strengthen our community with care and love! May the Year of the Dragon bring love, prosperity, health, and harmony to our families and communities.
