Our History

The Sacramento Chinese Culture Foundation (SCCF) was founded 40 years ago in 1986 with 8 officers, 12 board of directors and approximately 300 life-time members. Since the inception of the organization, SCCF aims to promote and sharing Chinese culture through education, language, arts, and medicine.  

 

Over the years, SCCF has hosted and supported a wide range of activities related to Chinese culture. Every year SCCF has provided ten of thousands of scholarship to financially support students and Chinese language schools within the local and greater Sacramento area. In addition, since 2016, we have hosted the annual East & West Health Fair to promote healthcare equity and improve access to care for community members, especially those with limited resources.

Additionally, SCCF also would like to create a platform for students, providers, educators, and researchers to collaborate amongst each other in developing impactful initiatives for the community. We strive to enhance Chinese culture awareness through developing the yearly drawing, painting, and language competitions such as Chinese poems recital, characters recognition, and essay writing competitions.  

 

With these impactful activities, we would like to invite you to participate in our upcoming events as well as making donations to SCCF so we could continue realizing our vision and mission.

沙加缅度中华文化基金会（Sacramento Chinese Culture Foundation, SCCF）成立于1986年，至今已有近40年的历史。基金会现有8名负责人、12名董事以及约300名终身会员。自成立以来，SCCF 始终致力于通过教育、语言、艺术与医疗等多个领域，推广与传承中华文化。

 

多年来，SCCF 持续策划并支持各类文化、教育及社区活动。每年，基金会向本地及大沙加缅度地区的学生和中文学校提供数万美元的奖学金资助，支持中文教育的发展。此外，自2016年起，SCCF 每年举办“东西方医疗健康展（East & West Health Fair）”，致力于改善社区居民在医疗资源获取方面的公平性与可及性，尤其关注资源有限或医疗服务不足的群体。

 

同时，SCCF 也积极搭建跨领域合作平台，促进学生、医疗专业人士、教育工作者及研究人员之间的交流与合作，共同推动对社区产生积极影响的项目与实践。在文化推广方面，基金会长期举办年度绘画比赛、中文诗词朗诵、汉字认读、作文竞赛等活动，不断提升公众对中华文化的认知与兴趣。
